I teach in a district Pre-K center in Brooklyn, NY. We are a free Pre-K/3k program and we do not ask parents for any financial support for materials. I want my students to look forward to returning to in-person learning with new, exciting materials. My students come from diverse backgrounds with low-income households and 90% of my students are English language learners. I teach a total of 140 students this school year. They are so appreciative and thrive with interactive and engaging materials that will help them learn and grow in the movement area.
Creative and curious, my students are eager to engage in anything new and challenging.
These items will enhance their learning in a fun and challenging way and spark their curiosity in the process. My students are bursting with energy and need materials to help them learn and grow!
My Project
If my project is funded I plan to use the items to help strengthen their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and problem solving skills. Items like the interlocking plastic flake disc or magnetic building blocks will help the students strengthen crucial skills.
These items will help my students to continue to build and grow their critical thinking skills.
As the school year has had its ups and downs, my students have continued to excel. I am seeing the need to challenge my students, even more, so they can continue to be critical thinkers, increase their imagination, and empower the next generation of innovators.
