As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative positive and meaningful learning experiences.
My students benefit most from hands on structured learning projects.
I would like them to be able to explore more new materials and ideas. Things they would never see or experience at home.
My Project
These materials will be used in our class in a variety of ways. We will use The Most Magnificent Thing to introduce the idea of creating things using their imagination. The Jumbo sticks and the pipe cleaners will be used to help them create new things with other recycled materials. The star flex and clip connects allow the students to build with materials that are not things they usually have have around their house. The book Engineered will help them realize that dreams and imagination can be used to solve real life problems.
