My Students
Our elementary school is nestled in the foothills of south Huntsville. At JVE, our students are a unique mixture of children with different interests, opinions, and ideas. Every day, our students are ready to take chances and thrive in each challenge they encounter, bringing their unique flavor to the table.
JVE is dedictated to differentiating learning and getting students interested in learning by reaching students at their level.
Our students are our guide in what we include in our classrooms. We tailor our curriculum, resources, and activities to what the students are curious about.
My Project
Research proves that student interest in reading increases when they have a choice in what they read. I believe that giving students several novels and several genres to choose from is benefical to students becoming proficient readers. Each book that I include in my library is intentionally picked for each student in my classroom. Because of that intentionality, students are more willing and interested in independent reading time.
My goal for the upcoming school year is to foster a love for reading in each one of my students.
Including books and novels from all different reading levels and genres will give my students a choice. I have selected award-winning novels, relatable fiction, and educational non-fiction books to include in my library. Your support will give a life-long gift to these students, and I appreciate any amount that you are willing to give.
