Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are 3 and 4 year olds in a Pre-K only school of over 200 students. Many of our students face challenges in and out of school and these challenges are what qualified them for our program. All of our students receive 100% free breakfast and lunch.

We are working on giving all of our students a great academic start I want my students to have a wide variety of materials available for them to play with and learn with each day.

My Project

These specimen kits will make my students feel like real SCIENTISTS! They will be able to see and FEEL things that they may never have ever seen. Each kit contains specimens from different animal classes and photo cards to learn more about each animal. With the tabletop Magnification Station they will be able to dig deeper and really see and explore all of the details in the specimen kits.

These kits will be like a field trip to the zoo in our classroom!!

We don't get to go on many field trips anymore and this will be the next best thing.

My students need to explore and build their background knowledge now so that they can apply this knowledge as they move on from Pre-K to elementary school.
