My students need sensory supplies to help them strengthen their finger muscles while learning letters and sight words in a hands-on way! WE need play doh and sand.
My kindergarten students are just entering the first year of their long academic career. Providing them with the necessary resources to ease their transition into school is key. I want to allow them to learn the way they learn best: through movement, hands-on play, art, exploration, and self-discovery.
My class is composed of a diverse set of learners with a variety of strengths and weaknesses; however, my students all have one thing in common: the desire to explore new concepts deeply, so they can best understand the world around them.
My Project
My students need sand, WikkiStix, Play-Doh and stencils to help build and strengthen the muscles in their fingers and hands.
These hands-on resources will provide my class with a variety of ways to mold, shape, and trace numbers, letters and their names - all while increasing their motor skills and improving grip and control!
My students will utilize these materials during morning arrival time and literacy centers. These are times when they can choose their own materials and direct the way they choose to complete the task of building names, the daily sight word and many other phonics activities. These tools will allow them to repeatedly review letter and number formation in creative and inspiring way everytime!
