My Students
I absolutely love the energy and creativity that my ten year old students bring into our classroom every single day. They are full of passion, they love to learn, and they love coming to school. My students come to school from all backgrounds, all cultures, and from all family situations.
My students are energetic fourth graders. We become a family throughout the year, supporting each other through the good times and challenges, and help each other to master the standards while still making learning fun.
My Project
I absolutely love using Mentor Sentences in my classroom. The premise is that by sharing a well-written picture book with students, even older students, you can teach grammar, reading comprehension, and writing structure in an engaging way. I have used Mentor Sentences for many years, and I have seen the difference it has made. I want to continue to do so by expanding our classroom library to include more wonderful texts such as these.
