Building Mathematical Literacy

Help me give my students stack games for developing numeracy and books that I can use to help my students further develop their mathematical thinking and making sense of numbers.

My Students

My students are doing their best to understand math and make sense of numbers, but because of Covid-19 and online learning many students are behind on basic mathematical concepts and they need extra help in making sense of numbers and operations.

My Project

We will use the study stacks in the classroom to help all students build their mathematical numeracy. The study stacks will be used in small groups, so students will be able to learn in a fun and positive environment. This will help them to build their skills in basic operations, and basic algebraic skills which are missing because of absences due to Covid and because of online learning. Another important aspect of these cards is that students will be able to learn in small groups and not in isolation which happened often last year because of the procedures that had to be followed to keep students safe.
