Building Made Easy

My Students

I am a teacher in a Title I school. My classroom is made up of EC children and typically developing students. I have students who have special needs and behavioral challenges. My classroom also has students who are learning English as a second language. My students are in a low-income school with very little funding.

My students try so hard to learn new things!

They work hard every day to learn the new things that are needed for school. They love playing in the math and science center but needs some help to make it educational for them on their level.

My Project

My students have never had the chance to make something from wood. Alot of my students don't even know what a piece of wood feels like or looks like. My students have never had the chance to see someone build with wood.

This wood bench might not have real wood with it but will allow them to follow a picture to make something special.

The wood pieces will teach them how to connect pieces together to make them turn into something 3D.

The experience that my students will get from this wood bench will help them learn new skills for the future. It will teach them how you can take something small and turn it into something wonderful.
