My students need math discovery cans, dry erase boards, and a physical education pack in the classroom to build healthy minds and sports equipment to build healthy bodies. These items will assist us to Build Lock's Brand!
I teach 5th grade Math to a diverse group of learners. My students have limited resources to be able to have access to supplies needed to enhance their education. I teach at a 95% Native American, Title I school where all students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many are part of the weekend backpack program. We have 5 total federal housing projects that feed into our school. These students make up 80% of our student population. Our students are Building our Brand to improve our society and create productive members of society.
My Project
These materials will allow my students to have hands-on centers for learning, quick whole group assessment, and get fit with exercise equipment that will help maintain our health. I have found that my students work better with math manipulatives that gives them a concrete understanding of the subject area that is being taught. We can challenge our minds through a more in depth hands-on learning experience with the math discovery cans. In class, it's important to access students during instruction for understanding. We can quickly access their knowledge with the dry erase paddles and markers. It will save time on instruction to do a quick review. An active body allows the mind to stay active. We will have activity time with the physical education pack in order to challenge our classmates during physical play. It will improve team work and build character.
