My Students

My two pre-K classes are filled to the brim with amazing four-year olds! The majority of my 49 students are considered "at-risk" (ESL, low socioeconomic, special needs, homeless, students of active military personnel, and/or having been in conservatorship), qualifying them for our district's high quality pre-K program.

In my 26th year of teaching, I'm still astonished by the love of learning, compassion, and capabilities of young learners!

It's an honor and privilege to provide these students with a foundation upon which future learning will be built.

My Project

“Tell me and I will forget, show me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”—Benjamin Franklin. Young children learn through hands-on, engaging activities.

This project will provide my students with a variety of materials to build their literacy skills at different ability levels.

Very beginning learners will benefit from the Letter Construction Activity Set to visually discriminate the parts of letters and develop letter recognition skills. Students will be able to use the Beginning Sounds Learning Puzzles and Self-Correcting Alphabet Puzzles to build their understanding of letter-sound correspondence. The Build-A-Word Houses and Goodie Games ABC Cookies will be used by more advanced learners to build words.
