My students need Tegu blocks so they can engage in hands-on building and play, as well as, learn about the properties of magnets.

My Students

My class is composed of children who are diverse in many aspects of life, including their social and economic backgrounds.

Our classroom is a place where they come together to build a community where everyone feels safe and valued, regardless of their differences.

Within this community, my students are engaged in activities that are hands-on and based on their interests and needs. For many of my students, my classroom is their first introduction into a formal school setting. My hope for my students is that they will leave my classroom with a love for learning, and will be excited about the rest of their journey through school!

My Project

Our class had the opportunity to borrow a set of Tegu blocks from another class in our building, and my kids absolutely fell in love with them. They worked collaboratively to create the most creative structures, and now ask to use them everyday!

These blocks will allow my students to explore so many things, such as, cause and effect, magnetism, balance, and force and motion.

They will also support my students in building their social skills of sharing and collaborating as they work together to use these blocks each day. These blocks will be used everyday during free choice center time and morning tub time. They will also be an added way I can integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education into our daily routine, which is becoming more and more important in our technology focused world.
