Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school strives to find the leader in all students. Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my class strive for excellence. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects.

Our students are always eager and ready to learn for the day.

One hundred percent of students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our students come from a variety of different backgrounds, experiences, and opportunities. Our diversity allows us to have a wide array of experiences which can be drawn upon by creating an engaging classroom environment where all students are able to focus and thrive. Student success is our number one priority.

My Project

"Civil War on Sunday" and "Journey of a Pioneer" books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. Our school follows the CKLA curriculum which has two parts: skills and knowledge. Within the Knowledge portion students listen to stories that are fiction and non-fiction. After we finish a domain students are always asking for more books on the different topics. Students will be listening to different stories about the Civil War and Western Expansion. Our goal is to do a novel study to enhance and expand student learning on subjects that might be difficult to understand.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

The novel studies will help students build their reading fluency and comprehension of the Civil War and Western Expansion. Ultimately these books will be helping students recognize that reading about different topics can be fun and enjoyable.
