My Students
My students are curious, creative, and ready to learn. They come to my classroom from a diverse range of backgrounds. We have students that face homelessness, poverty, parents in rehabilitation programs and transient lifestyles, but they never stop working hard and persevering.
Our school is a Title I school, which means many of our students come from homes that make very little money, have parents who work long hours and can be a little chaotic.
To combat that, we strive to hold our students to very high standards while giving them a source of stability and emotional safety. Students know they are in a place where they are loved, valued and believed in every day.
My Project
In recognition of October being bully prevention month, I would love to stock my classroom library with story books related to building kindness and positive character traits. All of the books I have selected are built around a lesson of being kind to others or displaying positive character traits. When children have access to books that are focused around being kind and a mindful citizen of the community this can promote a positive environment!
Kindness matters.
Our future is in my classroom but I need your help in building and providing the skills and character traits towards a better tomorrow.
