Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are an amazingly diverse group of special education students. They range in age, ability level, and disability. They are extremely eager to learn and love exploring the materials we have in class.
Despite the hardships that come with such a diverse group, they all working together to keep us learning and growing as a team.These kids will grow up and must have a place in this world!
They deserve the very best that education has to offer and every chance at a successful life!
My Project
Each of these materials will offer my unique students a chance to build independence and increase their fine motor skills. The sand and water table, along with kinetic sand, will allow them to shape and mold items, practice with cookie cutters, and create from their imagination.
Many of my students need practice with basic tasks so that later on in life they can get jobs and become functioning members of society.
The Shoebox tasks help them to improve and perfect basic skills such as folding, clipping, stuffing, and sorting. This will help them in the workforce as they age, vastly improving their quality of adult life.
