Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Pre-k is the beginning of all formal schooling. These babies are mostly 4 years old. Most, have never been in a school setting, so often this is their first time away from mom or dad. As you can imagine, their is a lot of mixed emotions for these students(and parents). At this age, they are innocent little sponges eager to learn. My school is located in the Northside area of Fort Worth, TX. We are one of only two early childhood campuses. This means we are only PreK and Kindergarten. This is my 13th year of teaching and my hope is that, with your help, I can provide my students with a fun, safe, engaging environment for the them to build a strong foundation that will stay with them through graduation day.
My Project
This project will help fuel my students hands on experiences through ways of building! They will use the Manga tiles in the block and science center to become little engineers and get excited about building things and using their imagination. The sand is also multi purpose. They can use the sand at the science center to explore their senses and search for things in sand, build castles, etc. I will also use the sand at the ABC and writing center for students to trace letters and numbers to practice letter and number formation. Students will use the doll house with furnishings to build a house many different ways.
