Building Great Skills While Building Great Memories!
My students need Number Bingo to reinforce their number skills in a play based activity and need the letter and word building puzzles to build upon their letter identification and letter sound knowledge.
My students' ages range from 3-5 and they come from a variety of backgrounds. They are served in a Title I school and are enrolled in Pre-K through either ESE (Exceptional Student Education), Head Start or the VPK programs.
Their abilities vary, however each one has a unique personality and sincere love of learning.
Every day they come to school eager to gain new social, emotional, and academic skills. Watching them grow and learn is extremely rewarding!
Setting a strong educational foundation and a love of learning is vital in the early years. It is my hope to provide each and every one of my students with the experiences and prior knowledge needed for them to make continued growth throughout their school career.
Building strong social and emotional and early literacy skills early on affects all areas of a child's life. These skills are vital to our students' success not only in school but in everyday living. Direct instruction time and independent work time are times where my students get introduced to and get to practice new concepts in reading and math. Providing a variety of engaging activities is vital to keeping this interesting, engaging and fun!
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my student's lives by providing them with fun and engaging materials that will introduce and help build upon their early literacy skills. My students need Number Bingo to reinforce their number skills in a play based activity and need the letter and word building puzzles to build upon their letter identification and letter sound knowledge.
Having the ability to explore a large variety of materials that are fun and engaging will improve the school lives of my student by exposing them to the skills needed to be successful upon entering kindergarten.
The Magnetic Shape Sorting and The Road to Reading materials are geared towards both introducing and furthering the students in their knowledge while also incorporating vital social skills such as working cooperatively with peers as well as staff members during direct and independent learning activities.
