This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Like many elementary school age children, students in my classroom are eager to engage, and discover new things. But many students lack access to a variety of reading materials. More than ninety three percent of students in my classroom come from low income households. Their parents work multiple jobs to support their families the best they can.

My Project

Evidence shows that students learn when they are engaged, curious, and interested. Materials and lessons must not only capture students' curiosity, but also maintain their interest. Your donation to this project will enable my students to build their understanding of letters, sounds, and words. Students will utilize the magnetic letters to practice early reading foundation skills.

Through the use of these magnetic letters, students will practice naming letters, associating letters to their sounds, building words and word parts.

Your donations will encourage and be instrumental in building a strong foundation for reading.
