Some of my students have never had the opportunity to use their imagination to build and create how they see the world. This project would allow them that chance to explore.
The children that I serve in my classroom are from a small farming community in Kentucky.
These children range from ages three to five years old. Approximately 80% of my students receive free lunch.
The children in my class are eager to learn and love coming to school. I want to keep the classroom fun by having new things for them to explore.
My Project
I have requested new building blocks, vehicles, and community building supplies for our classroom block center. These materials will be used in the block center during free choice time.
In preschool, the majority of our day is free choice time so these materials will be used on a daily basis. Children can build whatever they imagine and more with these blocks in this project. These blocks will also promote peer interaction by enabling my students to work together to build. Building social skills at this age is crucial, and will prepare these children for the future.
If you donate to this project, children for years to come will benefit.
The block center is one of the most important centers in our preschool classroom, but the most expensive. Children need more than one set in order to build past their imagination. Be the one to help provide my students with these building opportunities.
