My students are eager to learn and enjoy hands-on learning best. They come to school full of energy and excitement. I want our classroom to be a fun, safe learning environment where the kids are learning without being bored. I strive to incorporate technology and the latest proven teacher practices.
Gone are the days of napping and coloring in Kindergarten, we sing, we dance, and we learn many new things each day.
Whether they are wobbling on the wobble chairs or bouncing on the balls, we are learning by having fun.
Our elementary school is a Title I school that provides free breakfast and lunch to 100% of students at the elementary site.
My Project
These materials will help my student's develop stronger fine motor skills. We live in a technology based society, while that is a good thing, it can also be a negative thing. Some children today do not have the ability to hold a pencil or crayon.
Each morning we do morning tubs to help with fine motor skills and social skills.
The kids will use the chop sticks and tweezers to pick up various items and move them from tub to tub, this type of activity strengthens the pencil grip. The play-doh and pop beads are also going to help with strengthening their fingers.
