Building Financial Literacy Through Logical Games!
Help me give my students Learning Resources Translucent Geometric Shapes, Early Geometry Skills, Classroom Accessories, Teacher Aids, 408 Pieces, and hand2mind Safe-T Plastic Compass Test Taker, Brain teasers, deductive puzzles to learn logic and reasoning in MATH!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
For two and a half years, my classroom has been housed in a temporary building and my students are struggling with managing their emotions in an appropriate manner.
My K-5 special needs students are worried and anxious all the time.
They are well behaved, motivated, energetic and excited to learn. The majority of my students are low income and qualify for free lunch. This does not limit their abilities or expectations.
Some of them have no support from family and therefore, it is even more imperative for me to find the necessary resources so they can learn how to foster financial literacy through puzzles and math games that promote logical thinking and deductive reasoning. The constant movement to get financial literacy supplies has wreaked havoc on everyone's nerves.
My students are distraught and need some positivity in their lives to create a good self-image and develop some self-confidence. They have set high goals for themselves and want to come to a place that will help them achieve.
My Project
In New Orleans I need to make learning "authentic" and relevant to the 21st century. Our class is so starved to learn about core math skills as they are going to be tested in the near future. The high stakes state tests are just around the corner and very few weeks are left for us to practice and learn all the necessary skills to be well versed in math so they become self-confident.
We need a set of transparent pattern blocks to understand number patterns, compare and order fractions, hand2mind compass for measuring and Fat Brain origami folding brainteasers, tumble mazes and puzzles to build logic reasoning.
The puzzle and the Digital Game Number 19 Sum Equal to 38 Math Board Game Toy for Kids is perfect for hands-on activities in our Math Center. The requested set of transparent pattern tiles will be used daily and will help my students compare and order fractions and to build Origami by learning about geometric shapes, learn about perimeter and area, solve logic puzzles and determine the cost of building as they do their assignments. This will help my students to work through real-life decisions while doing real-life math projects using Geo-facts through origami puzzles and being responsible.
