This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most of our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 90% of our students receiving free lunch. Most of our students do not have access to quality literature. Unfortunately, our school no longer has class sets of novels for our students to learn and grow from. In my first year of teaching I purchased a couple of class sets myself. When reading these novels with my students I saw interest grow, minds grow, and intellectual conversations arise.

My Project

My students need books to enrich their learning. This particular group of students are studying for a academic competition. Without a full set of books they are at a disadvantage. Each student needs a copy of the text so they can study not only at school, but also at home, and in their spare time. They are excited to begin studying for the competition.

Your kind donation will ensure these students receive an enriched, challenging education they so desperately need.

By having proper materials and participating in the competition these students will have a great advantage for their academic future.
