First grade is a huge learning year! My favorite thing about my students is that they WANT to learn as much as they can! It is amazing to see the growth from August to June!
I have 22 six and seven year olds in my class.
My students are full of life and very eager to learn. Being in first grade, they are just being to problem solve and use critical thinking skills. These STEM kits will help them foster these skills while using their imagination and working cooperatively with their peers.
My Project
First graders sometime struggle with critical thinking skills. It is difficult for them to visualize without hands on materials. These materials will allow for problem solving while having fun!
These materials will give my students hands-on materials to explore, build and create while problem solving.
The Brain Flakes, Coglets, Squigz, and Mighty Molecules will allow my students to create projects by interlocking the pieces and using their imagination to create a various shapes and designs. In addition to improving critical thinking skills and problem solving, my students will also practice communicating and teamwork skills. The students will be able to work on these projects independently, in pairs, or in groups.
