Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The 2018-2019 class of first graders are eager learners. They are coming into first grade full of excitement and ready to leave kindergarten behind for much more challenging tasks.
We are getting this group ready now to ensure a lifelong love for learning.
This group of students will endure a campus change during their first few weeks back in school. Although this is great for them in the long-run, it poses a challenge for them to stay focused on their learning.
My Project
The materials on our wish list will help make resources durable. Without a school laminating machine, primary students often lose the ability to refer to resources beyond the first quarter. Having the materials to laminate will help them keep their resources handy and safe from damage.
Other materials such as the whisper phones and craft items will ensure students remain engaged and learning.
Whisper phones provide students the opportunity to hear themselves without feeling self conscious and it makes reading fun! Card stock paper is another essential in primary. The durability of the paper helps student create long lasting projects and resources to use through the year and beyond.
