This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a super sweet class of first graders in Northern Nevada. They are creative, funny, and very intelligent. They are excited to learn and love hands-on explorations. They are avid readers and love trying new things.

My students are just like I was growing up.

They are growing up in a small, family-friendly town that is used to tradition and consistency. This town is always on the move and exploring, and my students are no different. I love working with this down to earth group of kids!

My Project

Children spend an incredible amount of time using electronic devices. I'd love to be able to give my students experiences using hands on building materials, which will help them to think spatially, problem solve, and create things from their own imaginations.

Now, more than ever, students need hands on learning opportunities that help them to solve problems and create.

Many of the requested building materials are natural materials that help students slow down, focus, and appreciate the natural world around them. Others are STEM materials designed to get students to build and problem solve.

Please help my students connect with nature, think outside the box, slow down and focus, and pay attention to detail.
