Building Confidence: Sharing Thinking via Technology
My students need a HoverCam Nillo document camera for classroom use to allow them to seamlessly share their work as it develops and learn from one another's thinking.
Teaching students from a variety of backgrounds motivates me to constantly want to do better for them! The second graders I have the privilege of working with learn through inquiry-based instruction.

They embody the attitudes and attributes of the International Baccalaureate framework that make them 21st century learners. My students engage thoughtfully with content and interact with community members to show what they have learned!
The children in our 2S community develop their own essential agreements and work collaboratively to complete tasks. While the reading, writing, and math skills they learn are important, it is more important to establish common goals and shared respect for one another. It is my ultimate hope that my students take those skills and make the world a more awesome place!
My Project
Children love sharing their work with their classmates and teachers! This wireless document camera would allow students to organically share their work as it develops. Proper use of the technology will be modeled for students and ownership of this resource will be shared with the learners.
Students will develop confidence in their speaking skills as they share their work in an authentic setting with their classmates.
Orally explaining work will provide students with the opportunity to conduct error analysis looking to locate and correct mistakes. Students will also be provided the chance to support their claims with their work visually displayed on a screen for the entire class to see.
The ability to share student work in real-time transfers the authority from the teacher to the students. This allows a collaborative classroom community to develop where students and teacher can learn from one another.
