My students need the giant alphabet and numbers stepping stones, alphabet bowling, activity balls, tub of cars and yoga DVD's to start moving their little bodies and build confidence in their physical capacities.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Pre-kindergarten is a grade full of great memories for students and teachers. This is the first time these little ones get out of their homes independently.
My little, twenty-two students are four to five years old living their very first academic experience of their lives.
This year will be decisive to develop their gross motor skills. All of them are English learners and most of them are economically disadvantaged.
Recently we came back to our original school after being displaced the first semester due to damages in our school district after Harvey. They are just starting their long academic path this year and already have been through a lot with Harvey and all the chaos it brought!
One of the basic skills in pre-kindergarten is to develop fine and gross motor skills that will help them to be athletic and to get interested in different sports.
All the students at this age deserve to have all the advantages possible to make their learning truly effective and fun.
My Project
After Hurricane Harvey swept our area with devastation and grief, my whole school was displaced because of the damages. The whole first semester I was teaching out of a library together with another pre-k class.
My students need to stay active, but they also need the extra push in their academic skills.
Our playground was flooded and we lost many materials.
The materials I am requesting are all to be used by my students during recess outside. They will help my students stay active and fit!
The stepping alphabet and number games also have an academic component that my students need.
The other items like the fishing set and the other materials will help them develop their motor skills, which are essential at this age!
