My Students

I teach in a low-income rural school, and my students come from extremely diverse backgrounds. While this is sometimes challenging, it ultimately makes for a richer learning experience. I'd like to be able to provide a place for them to be creative and explore rather than just a place to bide their time.

I'd love to show them the learning experience that they so deeply deserve.

There are so many things that they haven't seen and so many things that they would love to do, and I would love to be able to provide them a strong and solid foundation on which to build their future.

My Project

This is my pie-in-the-sky, ultimate optimist project. I'd love for my students to have a workspace that better allows for collaboration and focus on larger world issues - after all, it is Global Studies.

By having horseshoe tables, students can work together in smaller groups of four or larger groups of 8, and someone can serve as a moderator for important discussions and collaborative work.

Having brand new tables and chairs would be a dream come true, especially after the unexpected turn that 2019-2020 has taken. Help me give my students the collaborative classroom they deserve!
