My Students

My students are from a small low-income community where school is the center of most of activities.

My students witnessed the loss of much of our community in the April storms that hit Alabama.

They are eager learners and have been forced to deal with adult-like information quickly. They have rebounded nicely and still encounter the same issues at school that children everywhere face.

My Project

I have asked for several books and CD to use in teaching about bullying prevention. I know that the students in my school have more structure than students in larger areas but that doesn't make them exempt from the same childhood issues that face children everywhere.

I would normally either do without these kinds of resources or purchase them out of my own funds.

With the loss of our high school in the aforementioned storms, we have less to spend in our classrooms now than we did before and finding funding is crucial.
