My students need picture books that help teach them social and emotional skills. So many kids are coming to school without the social and emotional skills needed to interact with their peers.
My students are great kiddos that come from a high poverty area. Many of my students have traumatic home lives but still, come to school with a smile on their face every day.
My students try their best every day and look forward to coming to school to be in a safe and loving place.
I cherish my time with them and want to help them build the proper skills to be good people.
They have so much potential but need support in their education to help them become successful students, citizens, and individuals.
My Project
My project is filled with picture books that will engage, and encourage my students to interact with each other in a positive way. Many of my students are lacking the skills to interact with each other with kindness. I want to help my students understand the importance of peer interactions through picture books. These books are going to significantly help me teach my students social and emotional skills through scenarios within the pictures books I have selected. The lessons that go along with these books are fun and creative. They include mini projects, artwork and discussion questions to help my students understand the important lesson each book presents. This projects will mean so much to my students this year and my future students in the following years.
