Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
GPAES is committed to continuous improvement for its prekindergarten through fifth-grade students. The school provides positive opportunities to develop academic and social skills where every student develops self-esteem and enthusiasm for learning in order to ensure continuing success in their educational careers. Our school is considered a Title One campus which means all students receive a free breakfast and lunch each day.
In spite of overwhelming life challenges the students face on a daily basis, they come to school ready to learn and develop skills to help them be all they can be.
My Project
This project was developed to help build a positive culture and promote character building in our school. The computer and tablets will give value to the idea of having good character matters.
Students strive to earn points demonstrating 10 characteristics we call "The Eagle Way".
We reward them with a special lanyard and character buttons that identifies the student as having met their goal.
In addition to the lanyard and buttons we have a ceremony each six weeks to welcome the new "Eagle Way" students. We invite "Eagle Way" students to a block party and give away the donor choose prizes to reward them for reaching their character goals.
