This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at a Title 1 school where every student receives free breakfast and lunch. Students come from all kinds of backgrounds to populate this great school. Despite certain circumstances that may prevent a good education and household, these students are eager to learn and come to school each day.

The student's dedication to education is inspiring and their love for books is huge!

We have a limited supply of books in our class library so gaining more options would even increase their desire to read even more!

My Project

I am requesting a class set of the novel Wonder! This will allow us as a class to dive deeper into the text. We will be able to close read sections of the book and do a literary analysis to learn and apply the required standards. This novel teaches multiple good character traits in life and will help them become better people of character.

This addition to our classroom would make an instant impact and allow for immediate growth in our library and student success.

The tools we learn from reading this text with a class set will provide the students with a skill set needed for the 7th grade next year!
