My students are Second Language Learners. All of my kids receive free or reduced-price lunch. I want to give them all the tools necessary to succeed.
My students are like little sponges, the more I teach, the more they soak up.
I believe that my students are the most important students in our school. They are learning everything they can in kindergarten to build a foundation for their future learning.
Each child in my classroom walks in with a different level of language, educational opportunity, and family experience. One thing that they do all have in common is they all absolutely love learning. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are an amazing group, and I am so thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
Kindergarten has become a place of high rigor. I want to not only have high expectations academically but grow students' minds with collaboration.
Using DUPLO bricks will encourage students to engage in conversation and problem-solving.
These are skills that many of my kindergartners are lacking this year. Building with DUPLO bricks will be hands-on and require students to work on social skills. Technology is amazing but we need kids to develop relationships and language.
Not only can kids use social and language skills but they also develop creativity. I can only imagine the great things my students will create.
