Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students here are highly diverse coming from multiple backgrounds like military families, Native American and migrant workers. Many of our students are also low income over 50% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Despite the low income area we have one of the highest graduation rates in the central valley at 85%!
Students will learn to collaborate with other groups and teams to have the greatest outcome.
Most students are unaware of how collaboration can beat strategy. This project is designed to do just that.
My Project
Students will be tasked to build a tower of various off-brands of Legos: Garunk, AIRKE, Panlos, Lekebaby, which will work together as high as possible. This is the one and only rule. They will be separated into 6 groups. They will be shown an example, but keep the prospect of what to build. Students will charged be told the highest tower built will get an A for the group. However, the point is for groups like businesses to work together to have the highest outcome not through strategy, but through collaboration with other groups. While they are all different brands, they will work together.
