My students need high interest lower level readers to help achieve individual AR reading goals and mathematical hands on math materials to increase understanding of math concepts.
I teach primary age students between the age of 5 to 9 years of age. My students have been identified with a mild to moderate disability, most of them being developmentally delayed. These students are working below level as compared to their same age peers.
One of my goals for these students is to help them learn the basic skills needed to have a strong foundation to build upon throughout their educational experience.
I want them to learn to read and be able to have knowledge of the basic math concepts to build upon.
They are young and so excited about learning, and they don't feel discouraged by their disability. I don't want them to ever feel defeated and lose that excitement about learning.
My Project
My young students are very excited about learning. Even though my student's have been identified with a learning disability, they are very capable of learning. If you fund my project, these basic skills items will assist my students with materials needed to actively involve them in the learning process.

With new books that are geared toward the emergent reader my students will be so eager to read. My students will grow mathematically using basic fundamental hands on math materials and interacting in activities and games.
