Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are hands-on learners. With assistance, they explore and question their environment. Building manipulatives allow students across skill levels the opportunity to improve both academic skills and pre-academic skills. For example, the tree top, activity cube, STEM set, and magnetic and wood building sets promote eye-tracking development thru expansion of cognitive skills. Students with a wide range of abilities are candidates to utilize these tools. These materials will be utilized by numerous students to solve beginning problems to designing and building structure meeting lesson assigned criteria. The promotion of cognitive skill development and the expansion of critical thinking abilities are encouraged with self-exploration and self-discovery a goal to be achieved. As students learn they begin to establish questions, think about possibilities, and seek to find answers.
