My students need leveled reading books, which will help children develop their reading skills on each child's appropriate level. By adding Flex-space Mobile Book Bin Storage Center, we will be able to keep material organized.
My kindergarten class is in Northeast Florida in a rapidly growing county. I have 18 children in an inclusion class that works closely with the special education teacher. The children are 5 and 6 years old, and developing a true love of learning. They are very excited to learn as much as possible through lots of hands on activities. The materials donated through the Donors Choose website will be used to help continue the learning and academic growth the children have made this year.
My Project
The best way to teach children to read is to provide them with books that are on their instructional or independent reading level. The leveled readers will help my students build their fluency levels, as well as the comprehension skills needed to understand what they have read. Reading on the appropriate level will allow my students to concentrate on comprehension instead of trying to decode difficult words above their reading level.
Once we have the books in our classroom, we will need the Flex-space Mobile Book Bin to help keep the books organized by appropriate reading level.
The children will be able to develop responsibility of caring for these precious books that have been donated to our class. I always try to teach my students to treat their books like a good friend, which includes placing them on bookshelves.
