This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach a wonderfully diverse group of students with varying strengths, gifts, talents, and ability levels. The children I serve have a heart and a passion for learning; they sometimes just lack the necessary resources for success. My students are self-motivated learners that recognize the importance of education.

The students I serve are ready to make a difference in their school, community, and the world; they just need the opportunity to expand their horizons.

Help me open the windows of the world to these students with tremendous heart and tenacity.

My Project

I am requesting Time Magazine for Kids and spiral bound index cards so that my students can become knowledgeable about the world around them and develop the vocabulary needed to speak knowledgeably about it.

My diverse students are impacted by changes going on in America, and I want them to be aware of these changes and develop a voice to make a difference in it.

The Time Magazines will help them stay abreast of current events in America and the world. We will use the spiral bound note cards to keep track of the new words that they learn, so that they will have the vocabularies needed to speak with confidence about the issues that affect their lives.
