This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach math and science to 55 amazing young fifth and sixth grade scholars in the San Francisco Bay Area, many who come from multilingual backgrounds and receive subsidized meals at school.

When my students have access to the right tools, their creativity and brilliance shine brightly.

They take pride in learning, creating, and teaching each other. They catch on quickly and are very proud of the work they create. Having more access to the right technology will provide them with the chance to shine even brighter.

My Project

Adding three Lego Education EV3 Core Sets to my classroom will allow all of my students to simultaneously plan, build, and program using Legos. Working in groups of four, students not only work collaboratvely with their team, but also with members of other teams who have simiar roles. In the past, because of lack of supplies, students had no one outside of their team to confer with. I believe that having enough sets for all the students to work at the same time will help build a "team within a team." It will help greatly when students are troubleshooting any roadboacks that they may encounter.
