My students need more books to improve literacy including a set of Judy Moody books, an All Star Sports Story book set, a Collection of Katie books and a set of Best books for boys.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"There is no mistaking a real book when one meets it. Its is like falling in love."-Christopher Morley. Some of my students have not yet discovered books that capture their imaginations. I believe this could be the year that magic happens and they will fall in love with books.
Our school is a Georgia public school serving about three hundred students.
Our school is a small school but we face many challenges. It is a Title I school with ninety percent of the students on free or reduced price lunch. Ninety percent of the students are African American.
My Project
My vision is to promote a love for reading by exposing the students to different authors and genres of books. Because of the passion I have for reading and my strong desire to share it with my students, I want to provide an environment where students enjoy reading. I would like to provide an opportunity where my students will be able to select different genres of books on their own which will give them insight into other cultures, worldwide locations, and new vocabulary. I am requesting books to improve their literacy including a set of Judy Moody books, an All Star Sports Story book set, a Collection of Katie books and a set of Best books for boys.
Your donation will improve the lives of the students in my classroom.
Your donation will help give my students books they will love and enjoy while hopefully building a love of reading.
