This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Can you think of your best friends from school? I want my students to look back on their Kindergarten days with fond memories of their friendships, too. This project includes books that teach appropriate social skills, games to practice skills and role playing lesson guides to help build friendship.
My students are energetic, kind, and excited young learners.
Many are entering school for the first time this year, with no preschool or daycare experience. Since they are meeting and working with others on a daily basis, many are struggling with how to build and maintain positive peer friendships.
My Project
Through games, lessons, bright posters and role-playing activities, my students will be able to learn and live positive social interactions with one another. These resources will not only teach specific skills, but allow students to practice what they have learned in a controlled environment. Many of the tools are bright, visual and hands-on- perfect for Kindergarten students!
Building and maintaining strong friendships is vital.
At school, students need to work together many times throughout the day to complete assignments and healthy interactive and bonds help students grow good attitudes toward school and themselves. I want my students to feel happy, safe and welcome in our classroom. These tools will help me teach them how to work together and play together in a positive way.
