My Students

My students come to the school Library Media Center and MakerSpace once a week. They are very appreciative of opportunities to read, tinker, build, and express their creativity.

I have curious, caring, and cooperative students who are hungry for hands-on opportunities to read, create, and make the world a better place.

My students come from many different countries from around the world and dozens of home languages are spoken. They are very caring about each other and their environment.

My Project

We have magnetic tiles and Legos from previous projects that the kids can't get enough of. KEVA planks and bigger building bricks will be a great addition to provide students with a variety of materials with which to build.

Students love coming to the library not just to read but also to build and code.

In addition to building, we also practice coding. The students love the Ozobots from a previously funded project and the Dash robots will provide even more hands-on opportunities for students to practice coding.

Mazes can be built for the Dash robots using the building materials such as the KEVA planks. Finally, I want to tape words onto the plastic brick blocks for students to put together to build poems during National Poetry Month.
