I teach drama for grades 6, 7 and 8 for a public middle school in Queens. Because drama is a relatively new curriculum offering for our school, we need basic drama texts for the classroom. The units I have in mind include improvisation, character development, scene work, pantomime, and technical theatre. The texts that I have asked for will undoubtedly enhance my students' experiences both in the drama classroom and across the curriculum!
Drama is an excellent way for students to express themselves creatively, build literacy skills and make new friends. These texts will help create and sustain a theatre program which is vital for their social development.
