Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a wonderful group who come from a variety of backgrounds. They are eager to learn, and, for that reason, I am eager to give them nothing but the best! They always come to school ready to learn! Despite all the challenges they face, they continue to persevere. I couldn't be any prouder of them! I teach in a high poverty, Title I school with many students who speak English as a second language. We have small class sizes because we are Title I.
My Project
I would like to create a classroom environment that focuses on the social and emotional needs of my students.
Before we can even begin to teach our children literacy and math, we need to support them in their social and emotional needs by building positive relationships with each other and trust.
The camera will be used to create a classroom zones of regulation poster. So students can notice themselves and their feelings on the posters. When students see themselves, it makes it more meaningful. It will also be used to capture them in moments of green zone!
The lap desks and ball chair will be used to reduce stress in the classroom. Students will have the ability to sit away from others when they need to, by having the lap desks and the ball chair is for the "active" child! I also included fidgets for my safe spot area and many books to have some items to help them calm down in moments of stress.
