My Students

Have you ever been taught in a mobile unit that was covered in tile with cracks here and there? My children will be receiving instruction in a mobile unit for the upcoming school year. Please help us make our trailer more comfortable for instruction and independent reading!!

My students attend a Title One school in North Carolina.

Our school educates a significant part of the inner cities' low income families. They are aspiring to be able to read for enjoyment and for it to not be such a tiring experience. Contrary to the struggles they face in their communities, these smiling students show up everyday for a quality education in a nurturing environment.

My Project

Being able to have a space in our mobile unit that has carpet will extend our learning beyond sitting at a desk the entire day. We will be able to meet in a central location to have mini lessons, discuss facts and ideas about what we are reading individually and have an area where students can just stretch out to enjoy a good book.

Being able to have a carpeted area in our mobile unit will lift the restrictions of having to sit at a desk for the entire school day.

Students will be able to enjoy the comfort of sitting in a neutral location to receive quality instruction, reading books, easily working with partners and feeling right at home. Please help us have a more nurturing classroom environment in our mobile unit!!
