My students need wobble chairs, wobble cushions, adjustable desk stands, ball chairs, carpets, and pencil boxes to expand flexible seating in the classroom.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Linden is an inner-city school with students coming from neighbors across Pittsburgh. Linden serves over three hundred students in grades K-5. Approximately 80%-85% of our students receive free or reduced lunch.
My third grade students are mathematicians.
Every day they are learning and growing their mathematical thinking and understanding. My students are active learners that have individual needs.
In my classroom, I have purchased and implemented some flexible seating options already. The students choose which flexible seating option is best for them.
My students have really benefitted from the use of flexible seating. There has been an increase in learning and the students have stayed on task for longer periods of time. In addition, the classroom environment has become more comfortable and inviting. I would like to expand the options that the students have for flexible seating.
