My students need a Number Line Chart to help strengthen their foundation of recognizing numbers, as well as addition and subtraction, using a hands-on learning opportunity, as well as a variety of blocks to foster creativity.

As a teacher of such diverse and young learners, it is extremely important to foster their love of learning. It is within this love of learning that my students develop a sense of belonging to our community and being an important part of our classroom. My students love working together to make our classroom more than just tables, chairs, and a couple of rugs. Our classroom is much more than that.
Our classroom is a room full of endless opportunities for my students to learn how to read, write, and be the best version of themselves.
My students come into our classroom at the start of the year with little to no academic background. But with the right tools and their desire to learn, their foundation begins to grow and skills and strategies are applied, creating our strong readers and writers. Their excitement to learn and the growth they show throughout the year is one of the most rewarding parts of my job as their kindergarten teacher.
Hands-on tools provide my students with the opportunity to learn through doing. The Number Line Chart will provide my students with a tool to help learn about numbers, by finding them on a number line, as well as jumping forward and backward to foster addition and subtraction. The large dominoes will also provide tools to use to help practice addition and subtraction through visuals.
Creativity will be fostered in my classroom through the use of the learning blocks.
My students will be able to design, collaborate, and create structures with the different blocks and manipulatives, strengthening team-building skills and fostering higher-level thinking.
