Help me give my students the library of their dreams! Books like Eleanor and Park, and Dear Martin will help ignite their desire to read as many books as possible.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My new students are a lively bunch, and even more importantly, our students that are motivated to learn. Many are artistic but are also serious about their academics as they strive to succeed and to surpass those who came before them.
As a school located in New York, my school serves a diverse group of students who reflect a wide range of economic status and include English Language Learners, students with learning disabilities, and students not yet at appropriate reading levels.
That being said, they are eager and ready to compete academically with the rest of the country and need the materials to do so. These students are highly intelligent and have so much to offer!
My Project
The two types of readers I am trying to capture are the ones who dislike reading and those who love reading but need to be inspired. The way people view reading is shaped by their experiences with the books they've encountered. So, if all of the reading students have done is boring, then they will be reluctant to pick up a book for fun.
Middle school is a crucial period in an adolescent's developmental journey, so by introducing them to inspiring stories, I will be able to impact the way they see the world.
Not to mention, that those students who view reading as a boring task can change their perspective by reading stories that matter to them.
