This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am teacher in a low-income/high poverty school. Most of my students receive free breakfast and lunch because of their socioeconomic status, we also provide many of the school supplies that they will need throughout the school year. My hope is to provide my students the best learning opportunities possible.
My students are excited to learn the minute they walk into the classroom, and work very hard.
I want to ensure that all of my students will have the skills and the knowledge to be successful, not just in the next grade but in life.
My Project
Seedfolks promotes a positive way to build a better community. Students will be able to hear thirteen different voices, and see how they come together to create something wonderful. The students will be able to apply the meaning behind the novel and apply it not only in the classroom but throughout the school and the community. Student will be able to learn to work together, find a way to understand those who are different culturally. They will be able to apply the lessons learned in the novel to help them work in group settings beyond just in my classroom.
