This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students love to learn! They love to move and are excited to find out about our world. They are inquisitive and have many interests that continue to push their thinking. As a class, we work on encouraging each other to focus on our strengths which in turn builds confidence in all that we do.

About 76% of our students are on free and reduced lunch.

We live in a suburb of Detroit. We are a school wide Title 1 building. I have 5 special education students and others who are below grade level. In our classroom we learn, laugh and love!

My Project

My students love being social when learning. They love to freely move around the room and find a place that is comfortable for learning. In order to better do this, they need clipboards. These clipboards will allow them to work in small collaborative learning groups and have the ability to write on a sturdy surface. In our small classroom, organization is also important. So, wire organizers will help. In addition to these supplies, the small answer boards and organizer kit will allow me to do quick formative assessments from anywhere in the room. Together, these supplies will make collaborative learning more effective.
