This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I love that my students push for success and never give up. My students attend a Title I school in Hampton, VA. They are full of potential and enjoy learning. Third grade is a wonderful transitional year! Third Grade is a pivotal year for students' future academically. Many of my students have stressors in their home lives that hinder their academic progress. It is vital to ensure the school environment is a safe haven for these students. I want to make sure I have the resources to create a safe learning environment and the supplies to meet the needs of my students to ensure they excel to the best of their ability.

My Project

I am asking for a reading carpet so that my kids can read in a clean and child-friendly area. This carpet will make it more comfortable for my students. Without the carpet, the student library is made of tile which leaves them with nothing comfortable to sit on.

My students need a new carpet because the old carpet is dirty and extremely damaged.

Unfortunately, the upper-grade levels this year was not given new carpets. My students need to feel clean, safe, and comfortable when reading and completing assignments.

The students will be able to use this area for independent reading, small group, and even as a self-check area when needed. The students will love to have a separate area for reading.
